VERRILL R. BURNHAM - Leeds. 78, died Wednesday at Montello Manor after a long illness. He waas born April 5, 1902 in Leeds, the son of Josiah Burnham, and Lena Hallowell, was educated in Leeds, and worked for the Main Central Railroad until his retirement in 1957. He has since worked for Blue Rock Industries in the town of Leeds. Mr. Burnham married Caroline Trip in 1924. She died several weeks ago. He was a member of the Nazarene Church of Leeds.
He is survived by two sons, Clyde of Lewiston, and David of Leeds; one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Gaghan of Auburn; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Weston, Milan, and Walter, all of Leeds.
LEEDS - Services for Verrill R. Burnham were held at 10am Friday at the Bragdon-Flanders Funeral Home, Monmouth, Rev. Carl Jeores, pastor of the Leeds Community Church, and Rev. Donald Smith, pastor of the Leeds Nazarene Church, officiating. Interment was in Leeds Plains Cemetery. Bearers were David Burnham,Jr., Richard Burnham, Patrick Dorian, and Peter Heald.
