In May of 1948 in Monmouth, she married her first husband, Charles A. Dorion. She later married C. Russell Gaghan in 1968.
Ruth worked as a spinner at Bates Mill in Lewiston and Carlton Woolen in Winthrop. She and her first husband were the original owners of Leeds Cash Marker at Curtis Corner. Ruth also worked at the snack bars at Mammouth Mart in Lewiston and Kmart in Auburn.
In 1981, she and her husband Russell moved to Washington, N.J., to take care of her in-laws. After returning to Maine they resided in Fairfield.
She is survived by her children, Carol Coulombe and husband Ron of Skowhegan, Charles Dorion Jr. of Biddeford, Patrick M. Dorion and companion Janet Joyeux of Sidney, and Catherine Dorion of Lisbon; her sister-in-law, Faith Burnham, of Leeds; nephew David Burnham Jr. of Norway; former daughters-in-law, Candy Gray of Monmouth and Brenda Dorion of Winslow; former sons-in-law, Daniel Coulombe of Sabattus and Peter Heald of Oxford; stepchildren Ricky Gaghan of Illinois, Kim Fultz of Florida, and Ronald Gaghan of Michigan; her beloved grandchildren, Rhonda C. Pullyard of Skowhegan, Brady Coulombe and wife Brenda of Saco, Kristin Ruth Dorion of Winslow, Christl Theriault and husband Shon of Sidney, Tracey Reynolds and husband Derrick of Monmouth, Trevor Dorion and wife Courtney of Enfield, Conn., Ryan Coulombe of Litchfield, ReneŽ Coulombe of Lewiston, Caroline Heald of Auburn, and Victoria Heald and fiancŽ David Clark, also of Auburn; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husbands; infant sisters, Eunice and Lena Burnham; her brothers, Clyde Burnham and David Burnham Sr.; her sister-in-law, Claire Burnham; and Bert Gay, Ruth's companion.
