HATHAWAY FINAL SERVICES HELD TUESDAY

Forrest C. Hathaway, six year resident of Milton-Freewater, died Friday in a Walla Walla hospital. Hathaway, a retired farmer, resided at the family home at 320 N.W. 5th. Born Nov. 12, 1889, in Guthrie, Oklahoma, the family moved to Boise, Idaho when he was 13. June 3, 1917 marked his marriage to Minerva Miller in Capco, California. Hathaway served in World War I and for ten years lived in Chico, California.

Hathaway was a member of the Mill-Freewater Seventh-Day Adventist Church and Milton-Freewater Post No. 24 of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Minerva; daughters, Mrs. Frank E. Johnson, Milton-Freewater; Mrs. William K. Mann, Pendleton; Mrs. Herbert Newell, Chowchilla, California and Mrs. Roy McCorkle, Citrus Heights, California; sons, Donald and Allen, Pendleton; Harry of Baker; a brother, George E. Hathaway, Carmichael, California; 21 grandchildren, nephews and nieces.

Services were held Tuesday, Sept. 6 at the Munselle-Rhodes Chapel. Officiating was Elder Estel Richardson. Casket bearers were: Orvil Stewart, Jim Smith, Cecil Broday, Sylvester James, Harold Ninz and Kyle Hubbs. Warren Stewart sang selections, "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and "Beyond the Sunset." Mrs. Norman Seibold accompanied Warren on the organ.

Concluding services and interment were at Milton-Freewater Cemetery.
