Roland T. Martin arrived in America in 1872 with his father, Stephen Touzeau, and brother, Samuel. Most of his other brothers and sisters joined them in America in 1877. They settled in Stockham, Nebraska.
He married Clara Eliza Walsh on August 4, 1886 in Harvard, Nebraska.
Roland returned to England and Guernsey one or more times to bring back animals plus apple and pear cuttings for an orchard.
Around 1900 Roland moved the family including machinery and animals to Lewistown, Montana. During the same year, he bought a farm, about 960 acres, five miles south of Lewistown on Casino Creek. There he established a dairy farm and made daily deliveries to Lewistown. Roland developed a very modern farm establishing a Delco electrical system with lighting in the farmhouse, barns, and barn yard. There was inside plumbing with water pumped from the springhouse. No other farm had these conveniences until many years later.
