Elizabeth died of a heart attack at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. She was born in Dunreath, Iowa. (Dunreath now lies beneath Red Rock Lake.) She was a long time resident of Des Moines, a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, and member of Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors included son Donald of Santa Ana, CA, sister Ann Miles of Des Moines, and four grandchildren.

Merle Hay Funeral Home handled arrangements. A graveside service was held at the Masonic Cemetery.
