From the Council Bluffs Newspaper (Daily Nonpareil), Thursday, 9 August 1951:
Des Moines, AP - Hugh Simpson, 75*, of Des Moines, died at Broadlawns general hospital Wednesday of injuries suffered when struck by a car while crossing an intersection here June 2. Police said no charges were filed against Francis Belding, 17, driver of the car. It was Des Moines' ninth fatality of the year.
