Mrs. Lila Williamson Burns, age 85, 307 Winona Street, Vidalia, Ga. died Tuesday, January 6, 1987 at Meadows Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

Mrs. Burns was a native of Toombs County where she had lived all of her life. She was the widow of the late Virgil Henry Burns and the daughter of the late Milton M. and Mary Adams Williamson. She was a member of the Smith Street Baptist Church and the Vidalia Senior Citizens Club. She attended Young Harris College and Georgia Southern College. She was a homemaker.

The deceased is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Reba B. Braddy, Soperton, Mrs. Margie B. Galbreath, Vidalia, Mrs. Betty B. Galbreath, Ailey and Mrs. James A. Thompson, Vidalia; one son Bobby Burns, Ft. Pierce, Fla.; one brother, Alphy Williamson, Guyton; 26 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Burns were held at Murchison Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, January 9, 1987 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Bart Swearingen officiating. Interment followed in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Murchison Funeral Home of Vidalia was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Larry Braddy, Dale Galbreath, Donald Galbreath, Randy Sumner, Jack Burns, Jr., and Drexel Braddy.
