Jack Dempsey Burns, Sr., 47, died suddenly at his residence here Tuesday of last week. He was born in Emanuel County, but had lived most of his lifetime here.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon of last week from the chapel of Murchison Funeral Home with Rev. J. Ansley Jordan officiating. Interment was in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Relia Mock Burns; one son, Jack Burns, Jr.; four daughters, Judy Deene, Patricia Ann, Gerri Sue, and Gwendolyn Burns, all of Vidalia; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Burns of Vidalia; one brother, Bobby Burns of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; four sisters, Mrs. M.A. Braddy of Soperton, Mrs. Hiram Galbreath of Ailey, Mrs. G.C. Galbreath of Lyons, Mrs. James A. Thompson, Vidalia; one grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
