Thomas Came to Wyoming on a Cattle Drive from Texas. Loved the country so much decided to stay.

Obituary: The Pinedale Roundup (Pinedale, Wyoming) Thursday, 04/02/1931:
T. D. HOLT PASSED AWAY at HOME NEAR CORA Thurs.
News of the death of Mr. HOLT received Friday morning brought a shock to the many fiends of this respected long-time resident of this section and early pioneer of Wyoming. Death came suddenly, Thursday night soon after Mr. HOLT had gone to bed at about ten o'clock. He had been in his usual health and there was nothing to indicate that he was not feeling well when he went to his bedroom at the home of his daughter and family, Mr, and Mrs. Lee THOMSON, where Mr. and Mrs. HOLT had been making their home for some time. When Mrs. HOLT went to the room to retire about eleven o'clock she found her husband still in death. His heart had suddenly failed and from appearance he had calmly peaceably done into the sleep of death.:
Thomas D. HOLT born in Frio County, Texas on ____ 185_ ... became foreman in McGee & Haygood who had cattle interests in South ... He ___ this position to ... to be con't ..... In 1890 he resigned this position to go into business for himself. He purchased land in Crow creek and in the following fifteen years gradully developed a good ranch of considerable acreage and 300 acres of good hay land. The voalue of this ranch was very seriously affected about 1905 when the city of Cheyenne appropriated the water of Crow creek for the City water Supply. A reserviour was build above the ranch land the water piped to the city. The loss of water supply for the ranch made it impossible to raise feed for the cattle and in 1914 Mr. HOLT with his family moved to the ranch located nears cora above where they ___ resided.
In 1882 Mr. HOLT was married Miss Mary A. LANNEN a native _____ whose parents were among the earliest pioneers of the west. _____ of the ... Ten Children ... born Maude (Mrs. McLOUGHLIN) of Pinedale, Hilda (Mrs. Frank GOREY) of Basin, Wyoming; Cora, (Mrs. Lee THOMSON) of Cora, Wyo; Guy F. now living near Jackson Hole, W. David of Pinedale, sheriff of Sublette County and Eugene HOLT of ____, and there were ___teen grandchildren.
