Guy Holt Died At Jackson Hospital Thursday, June 26
Sunday afternoon, funeral services were held at the Baptist Church at Jackson for Guy Edward Holt, who passed away Thursday afternoon at St. John’s Hospital. Deceased had been in ill health, since suffering a partial stroke, six years ago.
He is survived by his wife and one son, Thomas D. Holt of Jackson, and four daughters, Gwendolyn, Mrs. John Woodward, Jackson; Evelyn, Mrs. John Infangen, Jackson; Florence, Mrs. Ted Lozier, Moran; and Ethel Holt, also of Moran. There are also five grandchildren.
He also leaves his elderly mother, Mrs. Mary A. Holt, 87, of Cora; two brothers, W. D. Holt of Boulder and Eugene Holt of Jackson; and three sisters, Mrs. Maude McLouglin of Pinedale; Mrs. Hilda Gorey of Salt Lake City; and Mrs. Lee Thomson of Cora.
Guy Edward Holt was born December 5, 1883 at Old Sherman, Wyoming. On December 30, 1903 he was married to Annie J. Gearhart at Cheyenne, where they resided for eight years. In that same year he was acclaimed champion bronc rider at the Frontier Days Celebration in Cheyenne.
In October of 1911, Mr. and Mrs. Holt came to Pinedale where they engaged in ranching on what was later to become the John Allen ranch and within a few years moved to Cora on the ranch now owned by Harry Rahm. In June of 1926, the family moved to Jackson, where they have since resided on a ranch.
Deceased was truly a pioneer of Wyoming, having spent his entire life within the state.
