Mrs. Veal was a native of Washington County and had made her home in Milledgeville. She was retired from Central State Hospital and was a member of Hardwick Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents Luther and Mattie Hood Veal, her husband Roy Lee Veal, her son Charles A. Veal her daughter Mildred Purvis, sisters Martha Ryle, Frances Frazier, Edith Norris, Grace Granade and Jeanette Atchinson.
Survivors include her brother Edwin Veal of Sandersville, two sisters Blanche Garrett and Edwena Frazier both of Sparta, 5 grandchildren; Chuck Veal of Jacksonville, FL, Brian Veal of Byron, Grant Veal of Kathleen, Mike Purvis of Wrightsville, Sue Purvis of Milledgeville, a daughter-in-law Norma Veal of Milledgeville, 7 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren.
