Mr. Edwin Luther Veal, age 89, of Linton Road, Sandersville, died Tuesday, August 9, 2016. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 12, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with burial in the Church Cemetery. Russell Brown will officiate.
Mr. Veal was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the son of the late Luther Veal and the late Mattie Hood Veal. He was a retired shift supervisor for American Industrial Clay Company and also a member of the AICC retiree club. Mr. Veal was an active member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where he served as chairman of deacons. He enjoyed being a part of the morning and afternoon coffee clubs. Mr. Veal is predeceased by his wife Palma Frazier Veal.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home.
