Julia A. Brownell, 96, of Aurora, passed away Wednesday, February 13 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin, Illinois. She was born on August 1, 1894 (this date is incorrect. According to Catholic Baptism records in Hungary, she was born in 1893) in Mehi, Hungary.
Mrs. Brownell was employed at Thor Power Tool in Aurora as an assembler for several years.
Survivors include two daughters, Florence Smith, of Aurora and Mrs. June {Walter} Gerfen, of Anacortes, Washington; two sons, Earl Brownell, of LaVerne, California and Gene Brownell, of Aurora; Two sisters, Catherine Sabo, of Aurora and Helen Wilson, of Oswego; 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Brownell in 1945; two sons, Gilbert and Daniel Brownell; her parents; seven brothers, Louis, Jr., David, Joseph, William, Julius, Arthur and Anthony and three sisters, Margaret, Helen and Theresa.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 16 at 9:30 a.m. at the Daleiden High Street Mortuary. Fr. Timothy Piasecki will officiate with interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Visitation at the High Street Mortuary from 3 to 5 p.m. . and 6 to 8 pm on Friday. on Friday.
