Simplicia "Pita" Rita CHAVEZ (deceased-born, Aug 3, 1925): Rita (Pita) was born in Albuquerque NM. She was the daughter of Filiberto Chávez from Bosque NM and Antonia Lucero from Pinos Wells NM. She was three years old when her father, Filiberto, died. Her mother, Antonia, remarried in 1929 to Domingo Romero both of Albuquerque NM. Domingo Romero adopted Pita and Minnie Chavez. In 1933 they moved to Santa Fe NM where Rita graduated from Loretto School of Girls in Santa Fe. They lived in Santa Fe until they moved to Stockton CA in 1942. Pita Chávez married Raul "Ralph" Nodal Ramos Nov 12, 1950 in Stockton CA. She had only one child (daughter) Loretta Ramos Gonzales. Rita's husband Ralph served on the USS North Carolina in the South Pacific during World War II. He worked for Western Pacific Railroad as a railcar inspector. She passed away Mar 15, 1996 at 71.
