JERRY MACK BURKS 73 of NEW BLOOMFIELD went to be with his LORD THURSDAY JULY 21, 2011, surrounded by his loving family at his home. HE was born FEBRUARY 15, 1938 in TUSCUMBIA, a son of the late ARTHUR and DOROTHY WILSON BURKS. HE attended the TUSCUMBIA PUBLIC SCHOOLS. ON JUNE 3, 1961, JERRY was united in marriage to DORIS JENKINS who survives of the home. RICHARD served in the U.S. ARMY and worked in the sign shop for the MISSOURI DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, for twenty five years until his retirement. JERRY enjoyed fishing, gardening, tinkering, and especially spending time with his family. HE is survived by five children, LINDA BURKS of NEW BLOOMFIELD, BILL BURKS and wife TONI of TUSCUMBIA MO., marilyn colter OF HOLT SUMMIT, CAROL LONG and JEFFREY BURKS and wife RACHEL of NEW BLOOMFIELD. two sisters, MILDREW BURKS of LAKE OZARK and PATSY CLARK of LEBANONN. one brother, DEXTER BURKS of KANSAS CITY KS. eight grandchildren JOEY BURKS, ALISHA BURKS, HEATHER MURPHY and husband BRIAN, MICHAEL MATTERSON, COURTNEY COLTER, BRITTANY LONG, CARLEIGH BURKS, and JACOB BURKS. five greatgrandchildren.
he was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister.

FRIWNDS will be received from 11-12noon MONDAY JULY 25, 2011 at the HOUSER MILLARD FUNERAL HOME. FUNERAL services will be held at 12 noon MONDAY JULY 25, 2011 at the funerql home with REV. LP. COOK officiating. INTERMENT with full military honors will follow at RIVERSIDE CEMETERY..
