Dorothy A. Burks, 78, Tuscumbia, died Thursday at Charles E. Still Hospital (Jefferson City, MO). She was born March 13, 1914, in Tuscumbia, a daughter of Mack and Ida Casey Wilson. She was married in 1930 in Tuscumbia to Arthur Burks, who died July 12, 1986. She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Miller County.
Survivors include: three sons, Dexter Burks, Girard, Kan., Jerry Burks, New Bloomfield, and Alan Burks, state of Iowa; three daughters, Mildred Holtmeyer, Gravois Mills, Dixie Barnhart, Claycomo, and Patsy Clark, Lebanon; two sisters, Evelyn Patterson, Tuscumbia, and Bonnie Abbett, Eldon; 19 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mount Zion Cemetery, Tuscumbia. Brother Gene Edwards will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the Stevinson-Mossman Funeral Home, Iberia.
