Her brothers and sisters are Clara Etta (St. John), John Berton, Edna, Eva Myrtle (Mullen), Emma, Guyneth, Edward, Harry Albert, Glen, Ida Lenora (Frydendall), Laura Katherine, and Fred. Her stepbrothers and stepsister from her father's first marriage to Bridget Biddy Sullivan are Charles William, Stella Ann (Beam), and ThomasFrank.

In 1918, Maude married Lewis Sylvester Heater at Smith Center, Smith County, Kansas. Their two children are Leonard Lee and Eula May. In 1955, Maude married Henry Koenekamp.
