Mrs. Laura K. Edwards, 63, of Americana Nursing Center, 300 Laurel St., died at Broadlawns Polk County Hospital (Des Moines, Iowa) Thursday (22 Mar 1973) after an illness of four years.
Cause of death is undetermined, pending results of an autopsy.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday (26 Mar 1973) at Huffman Funeral Home in Lake City (Iowa) with burial in Lake City Cemetery.
Mrs. Edwards was born in Esbon, Kan., and came to Des Moines from Rockwell City (Iowa) eight years ago. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Lake City.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Fay Filmer of Lake City, Donna Strand of Des Moines (Iowa) and Mrs. Gayle Ingram of Boone (Iowa); a son, Edward Strand of Adel (Iowa); Three sisters, Mrs. Clara St. John of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Mrs. Lester Mullen of Shelley, Idaho, and Mrs. Guy Frydendall of Bellaire, Kan.; a brother, Harry Baldwin of Idaho Falls; a half-sister, Mrs. Stella Beam of Washington, Kan.; a half-brother, Frank Baldwin of Stanton, Neb., and nine grandchildren.
