Abner Brooks, 83, died yesterday morning at his home on Highway 24 near Alamo. Mr. Brooks a retired farmer, had been ill about two weeks. He was born in Indiana, the son of Will and Nancy Brooks.
Mr. Brooks is survived by his wife; six sons, George T., Independence, John H., Renick, J.A. Slater, W.H., Moberly, G.C., Hannibal, and A.H., Salisbury; one daughter, Mrs. Amos Brown, Moberly; a brother George Brooks, Huntsville; two sisters, Mrs. Molly Hobson, New Cambria, and Mrs. Emma Morris, Marceline; and 20 grandchildren.
The body has been taken to the Patton Funeral Home in Huntsville where funeral services will be held at 1:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon by Rev. E.Y. Keiter of Moberly. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Moberly.
