"Mrs. Grace Jane Shaffer, 80, Parkville, died yesterday at North Kansas City Memorial Hospital. She was born in Marceline, Mo., and lived there most of her life before moving to Parkville six weeks ago. Mrs. Shaffer was a member of the Christian Church, Marceline. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Doris Wiggins of the home and Mrs. Laura James of Gardner in Johnson County; a half-sister, Mrs. Emma Morris of Marceline; nine grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Reedy Chapel, West Frankfort, Ill.; burial in Tower Heights Cemetery, West Frankfort." The Kansas City Times, October 19, 1971
