George Ray France, 72, a ranch hand of the area, died of a lingering illness in a local rest home Monday night (April 15, 1957). He was born Oct. 18, 1884 at Mountain Green, Utah, son of Joseph France and Dorah M. Bybee.
He came to Lorenzo in 1890 with his parents and had never married. He had done ranch work all his life and lived in Montana, the past 20 years at Alder and Dillon. He had been in the rest home for about six weeks.
He is survived by the following brothers and sister, Elmer France, Twin Falls; S. Main France, Shelley; Mrs. Pearl Smith, Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Dora Gillman, Oklahoma City; and MRs. Sylvia Nield, Salt Lake City.
