She was a native of Sulphur, La., where she graduated from high school. She married Waymon Rivers in 1959, and they had made their home in Hollandale since 1963. She was employed in the Hollandale and Humphreys County public schools. Later she managed Kerwins Department Store in Hollandale. She was an active communicant of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and loved to sew, cook, and work in her flower garden. She really enjoyed life. She always had a smile on her face even during her illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mary Trouve' Myers; two sisters, Marie Guidry and Edith Beaux; two brothers, Gilford Myers and Mervin Myers; and a son, Jody Rivers.
Survivors include her husband, Waymon Rivers Sr. of Hollandale; two daughters, Diane R. Keith (Bennie) of Starkville and Donna R. Ramey (Leon) of Rogers, Ark.; a son, Waymon Rivers Jr. (Carla) of Centerton, Ark.; a sister, Shirley M. LaBouef (Darrel) of Sulphur, La.; a brother, Norris Myers (Loretta) of Sulphur, La.; a sister-in-law, Mary Myers of Sulphur, La.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
