HEBRONVILLE, Tx - Rev. W.D. "Bill" Gunkel died Saturday, Feb. 3, 1990 in San Antonio.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Fort Sam Houston Chapel of San Antonio. Burial will be in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery by Rosewood Funeral Chapel of Victoria.
Rev. Gunkel was minister of the United Methodist Church. He had been a minister for 38 years. He was a member of the Lions and Rotary clubs, and Masonic Lodge. He was a
veteran of World War II, serving in the navy. He was president of Ministerial Alliances and had been involved in the Boy Scouts.
Surviving are his wife, Glenda Joy; three sons, Rick Gunkel of Victoria, Bill Gunkel of Austin, and Charles Gunkel of Claremore, Okla.; two daughters, Sheri Gunkel of Phoenix, Ariz. and Deidra Critz of Manson, Iowa; two sisters, Helen Clack of Borger and Inez Price of Stinnett; a brother, Alfred Lee Gunkel of Borger; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Albert in 1968; his mother, Paris City in 1948; a sister, Louise Bowen; and his second wife, Elizabeth in 1981.
