Albert L. Gunkel, 86, 1500 Yows, Borger, died at Sunday in Borger Nursing Center.

Retired from maintenance with the City of Borger, he was a native of Indian Territory, Oklahoma, and a Borger resident since 1942.

He was a member of the Gardner Street Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Louise Clawson in 1986; his first wife, Paris Gunkel in 1948 and his second wife, Elizabeth Gunkel in 1980.

He is survived by his three sons, W.T. Jones of Baytown, Alfred Gunkel of Borger, William David Gunkel of Hebbronville; two daughters, Helen Clack of Borger, Inez Price
of Stinnett; three sisters, Alta Vann and Bertha Richey, both of Eldorado, Okla., Viola O. Wright of Quanah; 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Gardner Street Church of Christ with Mr. Richard Kasko, minister, officiating, assisted by Zeb Sailors, minister of Johnson Park Church of Christ.

Burial will be in Highland Park under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
