Glen H. Taylor, 81, of Mt. Erie, died at 4:16 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, 1995 at the Mary Burgin Boarding Home in Olney.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Mt. Erie Christian Church. Burial will be in Scott Cemetery in Mt. Erie, with full military rites at the graveside. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne.

Taylor was born Dec. 1, 1913 in Noble, the son of C.J. and Blanche (Parson) Taylor. He married Maxine Grinestaff Dec. 8, 1941 in Joplin, Mo. She preceded him in death June 12, 1984.

He was a retired farmer, a mail carrier and store owner. He was a former member of the Mt. Erie Village Board, Mt. Erie Ruritan Club and was a veteran of World War II.

He is survived by three daughters, Janice Hoebbel and her husband, Kenny, of Springfield, Barbara Hubble and her husband, Jerald, of Mt. Erie, and Judy Deckel and her husband, Carroll, of Cisne; two sons, Larry Taylor and Kurt Taylor, both of Mt. Erie; three sisters, Theresa Trimmer and her husband, L.E. of Mt. Erie, Doris Lee Wheat and her husband, Warren, of East Peoria, and Joyce Holman, of Louisville; four brothers, Frank (Jack) Taylor, Verl Taylor, Claude Taylor, Jr., and Leo Floyd Taylor, all of Mt. Erie; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one sister and three grandchildren.
