VERL R. 'POP' TAYLOR, 91 of Mt. Erie, IL passed away 12:55 AM; Sunday, December 16, 2012 at the Way-Fair Nursing & Rehabilitation Center at Fairfield, IL.

'Pop' was born February 3, 1921 at Mt. Erie, IL to Claude J. and Blanche (Parsons) Taylor. He married Beulah Benson May 22, 1942 at St. Charles, Mo and she preceded him in death April 9, 2010.

'Pop' was a Cement Mason, liked to garden and loved his grandchildren. He was a member of Mt. Erie Christian Church.

'Pop' is survived by a daughter Marilyn Perry and a son David Taylor and a brother Leo Floyd 'Dick' Taylor. Six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and one on the way and eight great-great grandchildren also survive.

Preceding him in death were one son Tony, one daughter Marjorie, three sisters Joyce, Theresa and Doris Lee; three brothers Glen, Frank 'Jack', and Claude, Jr.; his wife Beulah and his parents.

Funeral services were held at Mt. Erie Christian Church.

Burial was in Scott Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Mt. Erie Christian Church or at Hosselton Funeral Home.
