John Buford Gibson, 67, of the Mashburn Branch community died Friday at his home after a long illness.
A native of Macon County, he was a son of the late Ben and Dollie Jennings Gibson. He was a carpenter and a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Pauline Angel Gibson; a foster daughter, Mrs. Freda Waldroop of Franklin, three sisters, Candus Angel, Cordie Angel and Ethel Gibson of Franklin; and two brothers, Charlie Gibson of Andrews and Wymer Gibson of Franklin.
Services were held Sunday in Mashburn Branch Baptist Church. The Revs. Alton Dendy, W. K. Shields and L. E. Angel officiated and pallbearers were Randall Sorrells, Lex Gibson, Jerry Griffin, R. L. Gibson, Duane Cruse, and Jack Angel. Burial was in Sugarfork Cemetery.
Bryant Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
