A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late Ben Gibson and Dolly Jennings Gibson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Holland Gibson, who died in 1984; two sons, Frank Gibson and Johnny Clinton Gibson; brothers, Dock, Charles, John and Gordon; and sisters, Ethel Gibson and Cordie Mae Angel.
Wymer was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and was a member of Mashburn Branch Baptist Church.
He is survived by a sister, Kandus Angel of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 21, at 2 p.m., in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Ernie Sanders officiated.
Burial was in Sugarfork Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were R.L. Gibson, Isaac Gibson, J.D. Gibson, Mike Holland, Larry Angel and Jeremy Angel.
