Married Vita Ruth Woods in Jan. 1947.Made their home in Albany, TX then moved to Clyde, TX where they raised 6 children;Dianna,Polly, Judy,Linda,Jerry and Betty. He attended schools in Dexter and Albany, TX. He was a Baptist and a U.S. Army Air cpros vetran of WWII, having served in North Africa, Sicily, and Italy as a tail gunner on a B26. Completeling 63 combat missions. His awards inclued the air Medal with 16 Oak Leaf Clusters, European, African, Middle East Campaign ribbon with 4 Bronze Stars. Also, the Croix de guerren with Palm from the French air Force.
