Deaths of a Day -
Mrs. Julia Noxon Green.
Funeral services for Mrs. Julia Noxon Green, who died Monday at the Homeopathic Hospital following an operation on Saturday, will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George McGowan, 212 Euclid av. Mrs. Green came from one of the pioneer families of Onondaga county and was the daughter of the late B. Davis and Salie M. Van Kleeck Noxon. She was a member of the Fortnightly club, and Thursday Morning Musical and the Social Art Club. Besides Mrs. McGowan, Mrs. Green is survived by a daughter, Miss Cornelia Green of Yonkers; one brother, Henry Noxon of this city, and two grandchildren, Thomas and Alexander McGowan. The late Mrs. J. B. Ives and Judge James Noxon were sister and brother of Mrs. Green. Andrew H. Green, manager of the Detroit plant of the Solvay Process Company, is a nephew. Her husband died in 1869 as the result of injuries he suffered when struck by a New York Central engine.

Member of One of Onondaga's Pioneer Families - Born in Syracuse 71 Years Ago - Funeral To-morrow
Julia Noxon Green, daughter of the late B. Davis and Sallie M. Van Kleeck Noxon and a sister of the wife of the late Judge George F. Comstock, died yesterday morning at the Homeopathic Hospital following an operation Saturday.
Mrs. Green rallied from the operation and was thought to be recovering, when she was suddenly stricken with heart disease. Her death occurred at 7:30 o'clock. She had been ill only a week, having been removed to the hospital Friday.
The body was taken to the home of her niece, Mrs. Charles A. Hudson, No. 506 West Genesee street, where it will remain until to-morrow, when the funeral will be held at 3 o'clock in the afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George McGowan, No. 212 Euclid avenue.
Mrs. Green was a member of one of the pioneer families of Onondaga county. Her father, a prominant attorney and a member of the law firm of Noxon & Leavenworth, settled at Onondaga Hill in 1809 and came to this city in 1829. He built the large brick house at No. 6 Church street, now West Willow street, and there Mrs. Green was born seventy-one years ago.
Lived in Fashionable Section.
The house is still standing. It is on the north side of the street about half way between Salina and Clinton streets. At that time Church street was one of the fashionable residence streets of the city.
Mrs. Green was married to Thomas D. Green, a well known wholesale grocer in North Salina street, at the home of Judge Comstock in West Genesee street in 1865 . Mr. Green was associated in business with John A. Green and for many years this firm was a factor in the business life of Syracuse.
Mr. Green died in 1895. Since then Mrs. Green has lived with her daughter, Mrs. George McGowan.
Besides Mrs. McGowan, Mrs. Green is survived by a daughter, Miss Cornelia Green of Yonkers; one brother, Henry Noxon of this city, and two grandchildren, Thomas and Alexander McGowan. The late Mrs. J. B. Ives and Judge James Noxon were sister and brother of Mrs. Green. Andrew H. Green, manager of the Detroit plant of the Solvay Process Company, is a nephew. Her husband died in 1869 as the result of injuries he suffered when struck by a New York Central engine.
Member of Several Societies.
For many years Mrs. Green took an active part in the social and philanthropic life of Syracuse. She was a member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church, of the Fortnightly Club, the Thursday Morning Circle and the Social Art Club.
