DEATH OF THOMAS D. GREEN

He Was a Well-Known and Long-Standing Syracuse Business Man.

After a short illness Thomas D. Green, one of the old and well-known business men of Syracuse, died at his home, No. 1508 East Genesee street, last evening. He would have been 64 years old on April 10th had he lived. Mr. Green's health had been poor for several months, but the direct illness that caused his death was of short duration. He had lived in this city for the greater part of his life and had been identified with its business interests for many years. During recent years Mr. Green had been a vinegar and pickle dealer in Walton street.
Mr. Green was born in Utica in 1831 and received his education in that city, principally at the Utica academy. In 1853 he went to California, but remained only a short time, returning to the East to live in Syracuse. He was a staunch Democrat in politics and was prominent in his earlier years in the councils of that party. At the death of R. H. Gardner, Mr. Green was named by Governor Hill as agent for the Onondaga Indians. He was a prominent member of St. Paul's church and had been an officer of the Central New York Episcopal diocese for more than a quarter of a century.
Mr. Green is survived by a widow, Julia Noxon Green, a daughter of the late B. Davis Noxon; two daughters, Julia and Cornelia, and a brother; Attorney Andrew H. Green, and a sister, Mrs. John C. Hunt. The funeral arrangements have not been made.
