Virgil Milton Coombs, 62, of Fielding, Utah, died Saturday, January 29, 1983, at Bear River Valley Hospital, in Tremonton, Utah, of a heart attack.

Virgil was born on June 11, 1920, in Fielding, Utah, a son of Frederick Thomas and Teresa Jane Sunderland Coombs. He was raised and eduacated in Fielding, and was a lifelong resident of Fielding, Utah.

He married Vanita Mary Chugg on June 11, 1948, in Pocatello, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on July 1, 1960.

Virgil was a veteran of WWII.

He was a member of the Fielding LDS Ward in which he was a High Priest, having served as Counselor in the Elders Quoram, in the Sunday School Presidency and as a Home Teacher.

He was a past director and was serving as President of the Ukon Water Company of Fielding and East Garland.

Surviving are his widow, Fielding, Utah; two sons: Bruce L King, Garland, Utah; Karl M King, Fielding, Utah; three daughters: Mrs Brian (Karol) Lufkin, Kent, Washington; Mrs Gary (Sallie) Grigg, Porterville, California; Janet Coombs, Fielding, Utah; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are his fathers, Fielding, Utah; one brother: Arden Coombs, Ogden, Utah; and one sister Mrs Earl (Lyla) Weese, Everett, Washington.

Burial was in the Fielding City Cemetery, Fielding, Utah.
