Martha "Mattie" [White] Clarke is the daughter of Benjamin Franklin Sr & Thurza Melvina [Golgihtly] White. Her parents are buried at the Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta, Fulton County Georgia.

She is the grand daughter of Robert Sr & Mildred [Whitehead] White, of Cross Keys Union County South Carolina.

She married Rev Elijah Henry Clarke, on Dec 17, 1871, in Dekalb Co GA, this date on her confederate pension request. Rev Clarke was a Civil War Veteran.

This was Elijah's 2nd marriage, he first married to Mary Jane Burdette, they married about 1857, in Georgia.
