Amos A. Neuenschwander, 74, of route 1, Berne, a retired farmer, died at 3 p.m. Saturday at Adams County Memorial Hospital shortly after being admitted. Death was attributed to an apparent heart attack.
He was a member of the Evangelical Mennonite Church and served as a former deacon and Sunday School Teacher for many years.
Born March 6, 1901 in Wabash township, he was a son of Abraham and Mariam Moser-Neuenschwander, and was united in marriage to Lavina Amstutz on March 13, 1925 in Kidron, O.
Survivors include the wife, six sons; Lloyd of Berne; Ellis of route 1, Berne; Joel of route 1, Berne; Benjamin of Culbertson, Nebraska; Wilbert of Berne, and Denver of route 1, Geneva; two daughters, Mrs. Reuben (Estella) Nussbaum of route 1, Monroe, and Mrs. Dwight (Lorene) Brenneman of Building, Michigan, and 23 grandchildren. Six brothers and seven sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Evangical Mennonite Church, with Rev. Robert Zehr officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Yager Funeral home after 4 p.m. today. Preferred memorials are to Swiss villiage.

Rev. Robert Zehr will officiate at the funeral and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Two of Mr. Neuenschwander's six sons are Berne Businessmen. They are Lloyd, owner and manager of Berne Farm and Home Center and Wilbert, owner and manager of Maytag Sales and Services.
