HARRY BENDER
Harry Bender, 86, of New Paris RD died Saturday morning, September 6, 1975, at Allegheny Lutheran Home, Johnstown.
He was born October I8, 1888, in Somerset County, a son of Sigel and Annie (Miller) Bender.
Surviving are his widow, the former Cleo Crissman and these children: Orin, of California; Russell, of Bedford; Mrs. Rena Clark, of New Paris RD; Mrs. Ann Stutzman, of Chester, Pa.; Mrs. Sara Bauer, of Pittsburgh; Mrs. Louise Barnhart, of Johnstown; Mrs. Pauline Boyko, of Salem, New Hampshire; and Vernon, of Pleasantville. A brother, Rollo Bender, of St. Clairsville; and three sisters, Mrs. Effie Corle, of R.D. 2, Bedford; Mrs. Mabel McCreary, of New Paris; and Mrs. Sara Miller, of Pleasantville; also survive along with 22 grandchildren and 27 greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, five brothers, and two sisters.
Mr. Bender attended the Pine Grove United Methodist Church.
Funeral services: Tuesday, September 9, at 2 p.m. at the Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Pleasantville, with Rev. Charles F. Rhodes, officiating.
Burial in the Fishertown Cemetery.
Friends will be received in the funeral home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Pine Grove United Methodist Church.
