Mayfield, Ky. – John Ellis Cook, 85, of Mayfield died Tuesday at Lourdes hospital in Paducah.
He was the retired board chairman of Dairyman's Supply Company. He attended First Christian Church in Mayfield. He was a long-time board member of Western Baptist Hospital. He was a World War II Marine veteran.
He is survived by his son, Chris Cook of Holland, Mich.; daughter, Betsy Cook of Preston Bissett, England; brother, George Cook of Mayfield; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Humphries Cook; two brothers; and his stepmother, Grace Barton Cook. His parents were John VanCoy Cook and Ruth Boyd Cook.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Christian Church in Mayfield, with burial in Maplewood Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Saturday at Byrn Funeral Home.
