Caron Emma Marie Faribault Daily News 18/May/1961 Funeral services were held for Emma M. Caron on May 12, at 9 a.m. at the Sacred Heart church at Faribault with Msgr. Arthur Durand of St. Paul officiating. The Sacred Heart choir sang during the service. Pallbearers were George Morris, Jr., Faribault; James Morris, Owatonna; Charles Swanson, Faribault; Donald Edwards, Morristown; Lloyd Carlson, Minneapolis and Otis Rainey, Faribault. Interment was in the St. Lawrence Cemetery at Faribault. Emma Durand Caron was born March 6, 1872, daughter of Joseph and Celena Durand, at St. Gabriel de Bondon, Quebec, Canada. She and her family moved to Faribault in 1878, and she lived the rest of her life in this community. On Dec. 31, 1895, she was married to Alfred J. Caron in the Sacred Heart Church. She was a member of the Rosary and Altar Society and the Sacred Heart Church. Mrs. Caron died at the St. Lucas Convalescent Home on May 8, at the age of 89 following an extended illness. She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Frank (Agnes) DeFrees, Mrs. George (Celania) Morris, Mrs. Orval (Mae) Swanson, Cordelia Caron, all of Faribault and Mrs. E. W. (Alice) Hildebrandt, Ketchikan, Alaska; three sons, Edmond and Robert of Faribault and Theodore of Ketchikan, Alaska; 29 grandchildren and 56 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, two daughters, Mrs. Esther Conklin and Catherine; one son, Roland; six sisters and four brothers. Places from which people came to the funeral were Minneapolis, St. Paul, Owatonna, Northfield, Morristown, Madison Lake, Lonsdale, Madison, Wis.; and Aruba, North West Indies.
