Funeral services for Mrs. Josephine King, 90, of Cannon City, who passed away October 31, were held Saturday, November 5 in the Sacred Heart church with the Rev. A. Durand, nephew of the deceased, officiating at the requiem mass. He was assisted by the Rev. I. Domestici, pastor of the church, and the assistant pastor, the Rev. Raymond Moorman. Interment was in St. Lawrence cemetery. Pallbearers were grandchildren of the late Mrs. King and included James Berghoff, Donald Berghoff, Gordon Reichert, Ernest Reichert, John O'Connor and Tony Hubers. Mrs. King, the former Josephine Durand, was born January 8, 1859 in Trois Rivieres, Province of Quebec, Canada, the daughter of Celanie Neven and Joseph Durand. At the age of 17 she came to Faribault where she has resided for the past 73 years. On November 23, 1880 she married Joseph King who preceded her in death in 1932. One daughter, Mrs. Matt Berghoff, preceded her in death ten years ago. The deceased is survived by seven daughters, Mrs. Michael Leadon (Louise), Sister M. Ernestine, O. P., Mrs. Philip Reichert (Ellen), Mrs. A. M. Solem (Elizabeth), Miss Lena King, Mrs. Forest Cummings (Alice), and Mrs. A. H. Wheeler (Blanche); four sons, George, Lewis, Philip and Medric; three sisters, Mrs. Joseph Paquette, Mrs. Louis Comtois and Mrs. Fred Caron. Those from out-of-town who attended the services included the following: Mrs. Michael Leadon, Yakima, Wash.; Sr. M. Ernestine, O.P.; Sioux City, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. Philip Reichert and Philip King, Minneapolis, Lewis King, Regan, N.D.; Mrs. Forest Cummings, St. Petersburg, Florida; Mrs. A. H. Wheeler, Charleston, W. Va.,; Miss Mary Elaine Solem, Rockford, Ill.; the Rev. A. H. Durand, Treffia Durand, Mrs. O. Steele, Joseph Duffina, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Duffina and Mr. and Mrs. Milton Briggs, all of St. Paul. Mrs. Pearl Sparacino, Mrs. George Craven and son, Denis; Mrs. Louis Brouette and daughters, Collette and Carol of Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Ireland, Mrs. S. McQuaid and Mrs. James Lynord, Mankato; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Paquette and Mrs. Charles Paquette, St. Peter; Mrs. Fred Sanborn and Mrs. Felix Palon, Ellendale; Mr. and Mrs. Jake Maas, Mr. and Mrs. William Vandeputte and son, Maurice, Medford.
