Funeral services for Mrs. Celina Comtois, 85, were held Tuesday, March 31, at 9 a. m. at the Sacred Heart Church. The Rev. Arthur Durand of Little Canada officiated at the solemn high mass, assisted by the Rev. Cecil T. Houle and the Rev. Frederick Tschann. Mrs. Comtois passed away Sunday morning, March 29, following a lingering illness. Interment was made in the St. Lawrence Cemetery. Pallbearers were Eugene and Lewis Paquette, Robert and Edward Caron, and Medrick King, all of Faribault, and Albert Durand of St. Paul. Mrs. Comtois (nee Celina Durand) was born at St. Gabriel, Ontario, Canada, on November 16, 1867. She attended parochial schools in St. Gabriel, coming to Faribault in 1879. Her marriage to Louis Comtois took place at the Sacred Heart Church here November 11, 1884. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and of the Third Order of St. Dominic. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Mrs. N. F. Pidgeon (Lucy) of Springfield, Mass., Mrs. Oliver E. Steele (Irene) of St. Paul, and Sister Marie Regina of Rosary College, Rover Forest, Ill.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Fred Caron of Faribault. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Mrs. Harold Mosher (Louise) and Mrs. Clifford Henderson (Regina); two sons, William and Wilfred Comtois; two brothers, Cyril and Medrick Durand; and three sisters, Mrs. Joseph Paquette, Mrs. Joseph King, and Mrs. Orcule Paquette.
