Robt. Harmon Killed In New York Crash
Robert Harmon, 30, of Beech Creek, was fatally injured in an automobile accident at New Fane, New York, Monday of last week.
Information is that Mr. Harmon lost control of his automobile, and was killed when the car turned over.
He had been employed in New York State for some time.
Funeral services were conducted at the Beech Valley Baptist Church in Watauga county at 2 o'clock Friday. Rev. Ronda Earp, Rev. Bynum Trivett and Rev. Carl Wilson were in charge of the rites and burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Harmon, Beech Creek; nine brothers and five sisters; Luter Harmon, Banner Elk; Ray Harmon, Johnson City, Tenn.; Frank, Willard, Ira, Clint, Ronald, Lewis and Clyde Harmon of Beech Creek; Mrs. Lora Presnell, Johnson City; Mrs. Mae Townsend, Lenoir; Mrs. Carrie Mast, Mrs. Mary Presnell, Mis Pansy Harmon, Beech Creek.


Military Service: Enlisted Oct 26, 1948 Discharged Aug. 8, 1952 - Enlisted 17 Feb 1954 Discharged 6 Jun 1955 - Corporal 516th Ordnance Medium Automotive Maintenance Company.
