Roy Millard Harmon, 87 of Johnson City died Friday, July 19, 2019 at the Lakebridge Healthcare and Rehabilitation. He was a native of Watauga County, North Carolina, son of the late Jacob Marcus and Pearl Brown Harmon.

Roy was a machinist who retired from Mays Brother in 1997 after 39 years of service.

He also served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War as a member of the 7th Cavalry.

Roy was of the Baptist faith and resided in Johnson City since 1955.

In addition to his parents, his wife, Pansy Harmon (2010); three sisters Carrie Mast, Lora Presnell and Mae Townsend; four brothers, Luther, John, Robert and Frank Harmon; a great grandson, Aidan Stewart all preceded him in death.

Survivors include, his daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Dave Jones of Johnson City; a granddaughter, Sasha Stewart & husband Zach; a grandson and his fiancé, Keith Jones and Eva van Ginhoven; two sisters, Mary Presnell and husband Emory of Boone, NC and Pansy Blevins of Beech Creek, NC; six brothers and three sisters-in-law, Willard Harmon of Boone, NC, Ira Harmon and Frances of Lenoir, NC, Ron and Roetta Harmon of Boone, NC, Clint Harmon of Lenoir, NC, Lou Harmon of Beech Creek, NC and Clyde and Virginia Harmon of Lenior, NC; two great grandchildren, Ezra and Keira Stewart; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 22, 2019 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the Oak Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 under the direction of Pastor Bobby Miller. A committal service will be conducted at Mountain Home National Cemetery on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 10:00 am. Boone Dam VFW will accord military honors.
