Mary Bogus was born in Leki Gorne, Poland, the daughter of Bartholomew Bogus (1848-1891) and Anna Bogus Bogus (1849-circa 1928). She married Michael Skorupa on October 18, 1893 at Tarnov, Nebraska. She died at age 28 leaving seven small children: Alois, Bernice, Leo, Henry, Adele, Cyril and Theodore. The children were taken care of by her mother and step-father, Anna and John Koziol.
