Clarence Edward Derr was born July 13, 1891, in Frederick County, Maryland, son of John Calvin and Anna Sophia Anders Derr. On September 15, 1919, in Baltimore, Maryland, he married Freda Retta Shorb, daughter of Harvey E. and Martha Perry Shorb. It appears they had no children. Clarence passed away October 12, 1973, in Gettysburg, Adams County, Pennsylvania, and was buried on the 16th in Keysville Union Cemetery, Keysville, Carroll County, Maryland.

"DERR--SHORB. Quietly Married in Baltimore on September Fifteenth. Miss Freda R. Shorb, of Keymar, and Clarence E. Derr, son of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Derr, of Gettysburg, were quietly married in Baltimore on September 15th. After spending some time in Baltimore and Washington, Mr. and Mrs. Derr returned to the home of the bride, where they will make their home for the present. Mr. Derr recently received his honorable discharge from the army."

The person who would always know his address was Freda Derr of Keymar, Maryland. He was employed as a Farmer on his own farm. He was 5' 10" in height, 135 lbs, with blue eyes, brown hair and light complexion.

"Recent dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Derr, R.D., were Mr. and Mrs. Donald Walters and daughter, MIldred, Gettysburg, and Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Fuss and daughter, Bonnie Jean, Emmitsburg."

"Mr. Clarence Edward Derr, 82, of Route 1, Keymar, died Saturday at the Warner Hospital in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. He was the husband ofthe late Freda Retta Shorb Derr and the son of the late John C. and Annie Anders Derr. He was a retired farmer from the Keysville area. He is survived by: three brothers, Claude C. Derr, Taneytown, Bruce W. Derr of Gettysburg and Roland G. Derr of Biglerville, Pennsylvania; and one sister, Mrs. Donald Walter, of Gettysburg. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Harney and a member of the Hesson-Snyder Post No. 120 of the American Legion in Taneytown and a charter member of the Terra-Rubra Lions Club. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 16, at 2 p.m., from the Skiles Funeral Home in Taneytown. The Rev. William A. Markley will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Frederick Wenner. Burial will be in the Keysville Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday evening, October 15, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m."
