The story of her marriage comes down through the family as follows: Olivia's older sister Frances married James Monroe Daniel 28 Dec 1853. In 1863 Frances died leaving him with 4 children under the age of 9. Olivia then helped by taking care of his children and, as he was in the Civil War, he left to go back to Ga. Upon his return, he found out that Olivia had made plans to marry on the coming Sunday, he hurried to her house that Saturday night and convinced her into eloping with him that same night. So Olivia Gaddis married 5 Dec 1865 James Monroe Daniel becoming his 3rd wife.
