Peder Larsen was born October 15 1831 at Hyllested Soro Denmark. He was married Febr.4, 1835 to Ane Marie Nielsen. Ten children were born to this union. Mr and Mrs Larsen and all their children, with the exception of one son Nels, who was in the service in Denmark, came to America in 1881, landing in New York May 2nd. They first located at Omaha where they stayed one year.
In the Spring of 1882 they moved to Valley County and bought land seven miles north west of Ord, called The Big Island.
Mrs Larsen died August 6, 1894. Three of the children have also passed away, one daughter Maren Sophie and two sons, Hans and Lars.
He leaves seven children, thirty three grand children thirteen great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
The children who survive are; Mrs, A P Jensen of Ord, Mrs Jim Aagaard and Anders Pedersen of near Ord, Nels Pedersen of B C Canada, Mrs E E Madison of Orange CA., Mrs Joe Lower of Burwell, Mrs Emilie Johnson with whom he made his home for the last fouteen years.
The funeral was held from the Danish Luthern Church at Ord, of which he was member. Burial in the Ord Cemetery.

NOTE: Hans his grandson,son of Lars, died in in 1906 at the age of 15.
