Rev. C.P. Lang, retired pastor, dies Monday

Rev. Charles P. Lang, 74, 3343 N, former pastor of Emmanuel Methodist church died at his home Monday evening less than 12 hours after his mother-in-law, Mrs. Emilia Gettert, 101 years old, died there Monday morning. He had lived in Lincoln since about 1923.

Rev. Mr. Lang retired from the ministry in 1935. He was a member of East Lincoln lodge No. 210 A.F. & A.M, and lodge No. 148 O.E.S. Rev. Mr. Lang was ordained at Creston, Ia, in 1898. He had been pastor of Methodist churches in Plainview, Fairmont, Sterling, Blair, and several other Nebraska towns.

Rev. Mr. Lang is survived by his wife, Helen, of Lincoln; a daughter, Ruth, of Lincoln; a step-mother, Mrs. Anna Lang, of Cedar Falls, Ia.; three sisters, Mrs. Viola Downer, Muscatine, Ia., Mrs. Ella Wahl, of Patton, Ia., and Mrs. Ethel Cataldo, Los Angeles; three brothers, Rev. David Lang of Nora Springs, Ia., Newton of Moscow, Ia., and Joseph, of Wilton Junction, Ia.

Double funeral rites will be held for Rev. Mr. Lang and Mrs. Gettert at 11 a.m. Thursday at Wadlows. Rev. Harry F. Huntington of Beatrice will officiate. Lang will be buried at Wyuka; Mrs. Gettert at Forest Lawn in Omaha.
