Services to be held at Joe Newman Home on Doolin

James Ward Newman, of New Martinsville FFD, died at 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Wetzel county Hospital after an illness of some time.

Mr. Newman was born at Bebee, September 21, 1878, a son of Berkeley and Hattie Hafer Newman. He was educated in the local schools and West Virginia University. For a number of years he taught school and later engaged in farming.

He was a veteran of the Spanish-American War and was affiliated with the I. O. O. F. Lodge in New Martinsville.

Surviving are his wife, five sons, Joseph, of New Martinsville; Berkeley at home; Burwell, of Pittsburgh;
Okey of Canton, and Everett at home; two daughters, Mrs. Burl Robinson and Mrs. Lloyd Burton, of New Martinsville RFD. And two brothers Joseph and William Newman, of New Martinsville, RFD.

Funeral services will be conducted at the home of his son, Joseph on Doolin, Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock in charge of Rev. W. H. Sliter, pastor of the Christian Church, and interment will be made in the Northview Cemetery, under the direction of the Wharton Funeral Service.
