Alex Burwell (Burl) Newman 58, of 1053 Oakland Park, Columbus, O., died Monday, August 30, at Grant Hospital. He was born May 12, 1907 at New Martinsville, a son of James Ward and Rozena Tharp Newman. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth two sons, James B. and Francis John, both of Columbus; a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Ann) Puskas, of Savannah, Ga.; 11 grandchildren; two sisters, Delora Robinson, of New Martinsville, and Roberta Burton, of Wilsonburg, W. Va.; four brothers, Joe, of New Martinsville, and Berkeley, Okey and Everett, all of Wilsonburg. A Requiem Mass was held at St. James the Less Church in Columbus on Thursday, Sept 2 at 9
a.m. Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Jeanette, Pa., by John Quint and sons Funeral Home of Columbus, O.
