Minnie May Luce
Minnie May Luce, daughter of George and Hannah Cottam was born July 14, 1876 on a farm near Nelson, Nebraska and passed away November 10, 1936 at fort Morgan, Colorado, at the age of 60 years, 3 months and 27 days. She moved with her parents to their new home north of Williams when she was 7 yeas old and then moved to the farm east of Hubbell where she lived the greater part of her life time. She attended the school here in Hubbell.
On August 23, 1898 she was married to John William Luce and they resided on his old home place until March, 1929 when they moved to Fort Morgan, Colorado.
To this union two children were born: Lloyd Parker and Lila Clare, now Mrs. Lee Clark.
She was a wonderful sweet mother, kind and loving. She was a good neighbor and friend to every one.
Her husband preceded her in death, in August 1929.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Clark, and her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Parker Luce of Fort Morgan, Colorado. Three grand children, two brothers. S.A. Cottam and John Cottam both of Hubbell; one sister, Mrs. Anna Baker of Ashton, Idaho and a good many other relatives and a host of friends.
Services were held Friday at the M.E. Church in Hubbell conducted by Rev. John Newton. Relatives from out of town attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Lee Clark and Bonnie Jean, Mr. Lloyd Luce and Mrs. Howard Quillen of Fort Morgan, Colorado; Mrs. Tru Haselton and Mr. Ray C. Luce of Sterling, Colorado.
