OBITUARY: IDA MAE DELPHINE CARTER

Ida Mae Delphine Carter, the daughter of Nathaniel Douglas and Elva Crane Hamlin, died at the Audubon County Memorial Hospital in Audubon, Iowa at the age of 86 years, 8 months, and 28 days.

She was baptized at the Exira Christian Church and attended Exira schools.
On November 11, 1918, she was united in marriage to Henry M. Carter in Audubon, Iowa. They farmed all of their married life in Audubon County until they retired. Henry died on September 16, 1967. She then moved into Exira and maintained her own home until she became a resident of the Friendship Home in December of 1978. She was a member of the Exira Christian church and the Exira Garden Club.

Preceding her in death in addition to her husband, was an infant son, Donald Leroy Carter; her parents; and five brothers; Roy, Robert, Douglas, Vern, and Cecil Hamlin.
Survivors include her children; Richard and his wife Frances Carter of Audubon, Iowa, Faye Erickson of Exira, and Janice and her husband Donald Andersen of Audubon, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; her sisters; Mrs. Maude Kreamer of Orlando, Florida; Mrs. Claire McAninch of Exira,; Mrs. Edith Newland of Belle Plaine, Iowa; Mrs. Evelyn Hensley of Exira,; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
